Mesa For All Foundation Names Brett Heising Interim Executive Director
Experienced accessibility leader to guide organization through next phase of growth
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
MESA, Ariz. (January 07, 2026) The Mesa For All Foundation today announced that Brett Heising has been named Interim Executive Director, effective Jan. 7 through Aug. 31, 2026. Heising will provide executive leadership as the organization advances its mission to expand accessibility, inclusion and opportunities throughout Mesa and the East Valley for people with disabilities.
He brings more than a decade of leadership experience as a nationally recognized disability advocate, speaker, accessibility consultant, communications executive and successful entrepreneur. His background spans the travel and hospitality sectors, where he has led initiatives focused on community engagement, organizational growth and cross-sector collaboration.
A graduate of The Ohio State University, Heising holds a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism with a Public Relations emphasis and a minor in Political Science. He navigates our world in a manual wheelchair and has spent his career working at the intersection of disability, accessibility and public engagement.
Heising serves on the Mesa For All Foundation and Visit Mesa boards of directors and is well known among civic, tourism and community partners throughout the United States. He also serves as a member of the Arizona Statewide Independent Living Council, following his appointment by Gov. Katie Hobbs in 2025.
“Brett has been deeply involved with Mesa For All since its early days and understands both the promise of our mission and the work required to sustain it,” said Ron Williams, board chair of the Mesa For All Foundation. “His leadership, credibility and strategic perspective position the foundation well as we strengthen partnerships and build the resources necessary to support long-term impact.”
Heising said his focus during the interim period will be to sustain the foundation’s momentum while preparing it for its next phase of growth.
“Mesa For All was created to ensure that accessibility is woven into the fabric of our city, not treated as an afterthought,” he said. “During this transition, my priority is to strengthen partnerships, support the board and help position the organization for sustainable growth so it can continue serving our community in meaningful ways.”
The foundation also recognized the leadership of outgoing Volunteer President Alison Brooks, Vice President of Marketing and Destination Experience for Visit Mesa, who has guided the organization since its inception. “Alison’s commitment and leadership over the past four years helped establish Mesa For All as a respected voice for accessibility and inclusion,” Williams said. “We are grateful for her service and pleased that she will continue to support the organization as a member of the board.”
